Overview

This document outlines how Tabella measures the Community Health and Commercial Opportunity of every community using three core metrics:

These metrics allow us to evaluate community performance, identify areas of improvement, and prioritize opportunities for growth and support.

🎯 Key Metrics and Their Purpose

Tabella uses this system to assess two distinct but complementary aspects of a community:

Metric What it Measures Why it Matters
Engagement Rate (ER) % of members who interacted during a selected timeframe Normalizes participation across communities of different sizes
Admin Activity Score (AAS) Weighted sum of admin actions Reflects how actively a community is managed; flags neglected spaces
Member Interaction Score (MIS) Weighted sum of member actions Measures member engagement quality and frequency
Opportunity Score ER × MIS Highlights high-potential communities for growth or monetization

All metrics support custom timeframes (e.g., 7, 14, 30 days) depending on reporting or dashboard needs.

Base Definitions

1. Engagement Rate (ER)

The Engagement Rate (ER) measures breadth of participation, it answers “what percentage of members actually showed up and did something, anything, during this period?”

That’s why:

Formula:

$$ ER = \frac{\text{Unique Members with } \geq 1 \text{ Community interaction in [Timeframe]}}{\text{Total Community Members}} $$

Example

A parish with [250 members] and [40] of them active in the [last 14 days] → ER = 40 / 250 = 0.16 → 16 %

This gives a normalized view of activity across communities, regardless of size.
